Luxury Interior Design St. Petersburg

Sixth Sense Studio designs complete, deeply personal homes for St. Petersburg homeowners undertaking full gut renovations and new construction. We are based in Tampa and work across the bay, and our portfolio includes the AB Residence, a St. Petersburg waterfront home, and the JW Residence on Clearwater Beach. Our ideal projects begin around $150,000, and we have designed homes with budgets up to $1.2 million.

St. Pete has a personality all its own: historic brick streets, Craftsman bungalows, waterfront estates and a downtown skyline that keeps rising. We design interiors that respect that character while giving you the kitchen, the primary suite and the living spaces you actually want to live in.

Designing for St. Petersburg Homes

Renovating in St. Petersburg often means working with older structures, smaller historic footprints or waterfront conditions. New construction frequently means building up, with elevated living levels and big views to frame. Each condition shapes the interior: how light enters, how rooms connect, which materials stand up to humidity and salt air, and how storage is found in homes that were never designed for modern life.

We approach every project as one composition. Layout, cabinetry, lighting, stone, tile, millwork, furniture and art are designed together, so the finished home feels collected and intentional rather than assembled piece by piece.

St. Petersburg Neighborhoods We Serve

  • Old Northeast: historic homes where we preserve architectural character while rebuilding kitchens, baths and living spaces. See our Historic Old Northeast page.
  • Snell Isle: waterfront residences where the view leads, and interiors need to be both elegant and resilient. More on designing for Snell Isle.
  • Downtown: high-rise residences and townhomes that call for tailored, space-efficient luxury.
  • Historic Kenwood: bungalows and Craftsman homes being renovated with care for their original charm.

We serve the wider St. Petersburg area too. Learn more about our St. Petersburg interior design work, or see our luxury interior design in Tampa.

Our Process, From First Walkthrough to Final Install

1. The $199 in-home consultation

Every project begins in your home. We walk the space with you, listen to how you live, and talk honestly about scope, timeline and investment. You leave with a clear sense of whether we are the right studio for the project, and we leave understanding what you actually need.

2. Concept and space planning

We study the existing structure, light and circulation, then develop layouts and a design direction. For a gut renovation, this is where walls move, kitchens are re-planned and bathrooms are rethought from the studs. For new construction, we work from drawings with your architect and builder so interior decisions are made before they become expensive changes.

3. Materials, finishes and specifications

Stone, tile, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware and millwork are selected together so the home reads as one intentional composition. We document every selection so the trades build exactly what was designed.

4. Construction coordination

We work collaboratively with appropriate licensed trade professionals throughout the build, answering questions, reviewing progress and protecting the design intent when field conditions demand a decision.

5. Furnishings, procurement and installation

Furniture, textiles, art and accessories are sourced, tracked and delivered, then installed and styled so you walk into a finished home rather than a pile of boxes.

Project Highlights

Closest to home for St. Petersburg clients are our AB and AT Residences in St. Petersburg and the JW Residence on Clearwater Beach. Our Tampa work shows the same approach across the bay.

See all of our work on the portfolio page.

Working Across the Bay

North of the city we also work in Pinellas communities such as Belleair, Belleair Shore and Clearwater Beach, including our JW Residence on the Gulf.

South of the city, along the barrier islands and bay keys, we design for Tierra Verde, St. Pete Beach and Pass-a-Grille and Treasure Island. Farther south of Tampa Bay, see our page on Sarasota and Manatee coastal homes.

Because our studio is in Tampa, we plan St. Petersburg projects with a clear schedule of site visits, selections meetings and installation days, so you always know when we will be in your home. Travel arrangements for projects outside our immediate consultation area are confirmed before we begin.

Whether you are restoring a historic home, gutting a waterfront house, or building new, bringing a designer in before construction drawings are final protects both your budget and the result. Lighting plans, plumbing locations, cabinetry dimensions and electrical layouts are far easier to get right on paper than to change once walls are closed.
